Formed in 2006, Dance Offensive quickly rose to prominence with their eclectic, innovative, visceral and totally passionate style of performance.
They believe that the personality of the performer is at the core of creativity and when combined with hard work and technical exploration, can achieve breath-taking results. Building confidence, respect and self-esteem. This soulful approach to performance has seen them develop critically acclaimed shows and exciting collaborations with professional artists, organisations, schools, and venues. Through their mentoring programme they have nurtured, trained and enabled young dancers to become teachers themselves. Five of these presently teach for the company and are in regular demand for workshops and classes.
Delivering over four thousand hours of FREE classes to young people in Cambridgeshire, producing nine sell out shows, performing two years in a row on the main stage at ‘Breakin’ Convention’, winning two justice awards, delivering workshops to the children of Kenya’s slums, receiving critical acclaim from the Guardian and the Times and being awarded the Inspire mark for their London 2012 Games Beat Project, are amongst the many things Dance Offensive have achieved in this short time.
